DESIGN IS A BEAT...

…a rhythm that defines our cultures’ experiences, trends, and communication. To be a designer is also to be a percussionist, fine tuning every accent, dynamic, composition, and tone in a pattern that shapes this universal language. As a drummer-turned-designer, I constantly seek to employ the mechanisms of music within my work, curating projects that aim to reach all senses and audiences. Design holds tremendous power to connect us globally, but should not be limited to the trivialities of just color palettes or typefaces. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good font, but I believe a designer’s full purpose lies in their ability to connect aspects of our physical world through digital experiences. Through design, I am eager to fuel my passions of connecting and enriching our world,
one beat at a time…

PROBLEM

We are all living in a disconnected world bogged by constant overconsumption & anonymity, and I want to help change that.

PROCESS

  1. Observe problem — what isn’t working?

  2. Brainstorm solution — how can we fix it?

  3. Empathize — is it intuitive & necessary?

  4. Test — what are the flaws & adaptations?

  5. Design — is it the best it can be?

  6. Finalize — finishing touches, and it’s off!

SOLUTION

Throughout my career, I hope to utilize design’s influence to leave the world better than I found it, creating solutions that encourage healthier people and planet.
